Job summary

Metrolina Greenhouses Inc. in Huntersville, NC is seeking a 1st Shift Shop Machinist to support maintenance by fabricating and machining parts for the greenhouse. You will read drawings, keep parts inventory, and work with a variety of precision equipment on site.

Operate milling machines, lathes, drill presses, and related tools; ensure safe, accurate part production and accurate documentation. This role requires physical work, occasional evenings or weekends, and the ability to lift up to 50

Qualifications

• Experience operating lathe, milling machine, drill press, or similar machinery.
• Knowledge of precision measurement tools.
• Welding experience including mig, stick, and tig welding.

Responsibilities

• Operate milling machine, lathe, drill press and other precision equipment
• Ensure an inventory of parts are on hand to shorten down time throughout the facility
• Ensure familiar with all areas of the greenhouse for quick response and support
• Repair and/or replicate machined parts
• Read drawings and be able to recreate exact items from the drawings
• Load and unload trucks as needed
• Detail notetaking, including but not limited to precise measurements
• Update computer systems to view and close work orders
• Work with the shop team to maintain and a clean work area
• Other duties as assigned by management
