Job summary

Call Your Mother is a Jew-ish deli delivering friendly hospitality and top-notch bagels. The Shop Leader in Old Town will guide daily operations, coach teammates, and ensure an exceptional guest experience from open to close. Expect active shifts, teamwork, and a vibrant, fast-paced environment that rewards initiative and strong leadership.

You’ll manage shifts, support the management team, and help build a positive culture while upholding food-safety standards and efficient service.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of leadership experience as a Shift Leader, Key Holder, or similar restaurant leadership role.
• Must stay active, handle pressure, and take ownership of a busy shift.
• Hospitality focus; culture like family and warm guest experiences.
• Outgoing and approachable; friendly with guests and teammates.
• Natural leader who fosters a fun, positive work environment.
• Demonstrates integrity and accountability, even when not watched.
• Team-based mindset with collaboration over ego.
• Memorizing regular guests or their orders is valued as a sign of attentiveness.
• Embraces CYM's VIBE(S): Vibrancy, Integrity, Belonging, Energy, Seize the Moment.
• ServSafe Manager Food Safety Certification preferred.
• Morning people with weekend availability and flexible evenings.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily shop operations from opening through closing while maintaining high standards.
• Provide leadership during shifts to keep service running smoothly and efficiently.
• Create memorable guest experiences by modeling hospitality and resolving concerns.
• Coach and develop team members through feedback and on-the-job training.
• Ensure recipes, checklists, food safety, and procedures are followed.
• Proactively solve problems and make quick, thoughtful decisions.
• Maintain cash handling procedures and financial reporting.
• Partner with GM and leaders to build a positive, high-performing shop culture.
• Maintain a clean, safe shop including equipment and storage areas.
• Place vendor orders to support daily operations.
• Complete required training and elevate guest or employee concerns when needed.
• Rotate into Front of House or Kitchen Supervisor roles as needed.
