Job summary

Firematic in Connecticut is seeking a Shop Helper/Apprentice eager to learn about fire apparatus from our skilled mechanics. You will assist with parts, truck pickups/drop-offs, and general shop duties.

You should have a positive attitude, be able to work independently and in a team, and demonstrate safe work habits. Basic mechanical knowledge and dependability are required; CDL is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Basic mechanical knowledge required.
• Hard worker and dependable.
• CDL preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Running Parts.
• Pick up and Drop off of Trucks.
• General shop maintenance (sweeping, taking out trash, changing light bulbs).
• Assisting mechanics as needed.

What you'll be doing:

Busy Truck Shop in need of a Shop Helper/Apprentice who is looking to learn about Fire Apparatus from our skilled Mechanics while helping with the following:

• Running Parts
• Pick up and Drop off of Trucks
• General shop maintenance (sweeping, taking out trash, changing light bulbs, etc.)
• Assisting mechanics as needed

Requirements:

In order to be successful in this position you must come with a positive attitude and ability to work independently and in a team environment while demonstrating safe work habits

• Basic mechanical knowledge
• Must be a hard worker and dependable
• Valid CDL preferred but not required
