Responsibilities

• Apply protective coatings to steel beams, columns, and products in paint booths.
• Operate and maintain paint guns, sprayers, and related equipment.
• Replace paint gun tips, filters, and other components as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of paint booths, lines, and surrounding work areas.
• Monitor paint and coating supplies and notify supervisor when reordering is needed.
• Assist with loading, strapping steel, and other production activities.
• Ensure painted products meet quality standards and are properly coated.
• Follow safety procedures, including PPE and respirator use.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance like cleaning pumps and replacing filters.
• Keep conveyor systems and equipment free of paint buildup.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dependable Industrial Painter to join the steel department of a growing manufacturing operation in Matthews, NC. The Industrial Painter will be responsible for applying protective, rust-resistant coatings to fabricated steel products while maintaining high-quality standards, following safety procedures, and keeping painting equipment and work areas clean and properly maintained.

Essential Job Functions

• Apply protective coatings to beams, columns, and other steel products in paint booths
• Operate and maintain paint guns, sprayers, and related equipment
• Replace paint gun tips, filters, and other components as needed
• Maintain cleanliness of paint booths, steel lines, shot blaster, and surrounding work areas
• Monitor paint and coating supplies and notify the supervisor when supplies need to be reordered
• Assist with loading, strapping steel, and other production activities as needed
• Ensure painted products meet established quality standards and are properly coated
• Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and respirators
• Perform routine equipment maintenance, including cleaning pumps, changing booth wallpaper, and replacing filters
• Keep conveyor systems and equipment free of paint buildup
