Job summary

Ziegler CAT is seeking a temporary part-time seasonal helper to support our shop, yard, and parts warehouse operations in Fergus Falls, MN. You will shadow technicians, assist with repairs, perform yard and facilities tasks, and help with parts handling and customer loading.

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and adaptability to weather conditions. Training and ongoing duties include inventory, housekeeping, and general support as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be 16+ years old.
• Able to work independently and with others.
• Maintain a safe, organized work area.
• Willing to work in any weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Shadow and assist shop technicians with tooling for equipment repairs.
• Perform yard and facilities maintenance including painting, cleaning, trash/recycling, and floor care.
• Wash equipment in wash bay.
• Receive and pull parts orders and prepare transfers for shipping.
• Assist customers with loading and unloading parts or equipment.
• Conduct inventory and cycle counts.
• Support contamination control and other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Shadow and assist shop technicians with tooling for equipment repairs
• Yard maintenance and general facilities maintenance including painting, cleaning, trash and recycling, and sweep and scrub floors
• Wash equipment in wash bay
• Helps receive and pull parts orders and get transfers ready to ship out
• Assist customers with loading and unloading of parts or equipment
• Inventory and cycle counting
• Help with contamination control
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Able to work independently
• Team-player and willing to help wherever needed
• Maintains safe and organized work area
• Willing to work in any weather condition

Personal characteristics

• Dependable, attention to detail, positive attitude, efficient, team player, and problem solver
• Able to work up to 28 hours per week
• 16+ years old

Minimum Physical Requirements

• Push/pull up to 25 lbs
• Lift/carry up to 25 lbs
• Lift bulky objects
• Standing, walking, using hands, talking, hearing, neck rotation, trunk rotation, stair climbing, ladder climbing, repetitive bending, kneeling, sustained squat, forward reaching, overhead reaching, supine overhead reaching, crawling, bin lift, high steps, fingering/grasping – able to use bolt box.

Working Conditions may be indoor and/or outdoor. Noise level may be loud at times.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $15.73 to $18.86. Starting wage is dependent on skills, experience, education and location. Pay range may vary by 10% depending on the applicant’s location.
