Shop Foreman

Position Overview

The Shop Foreman is responsible for overseeing all operations within the fabrication shop, ensuring that projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. This role involves managing staff, coordinating workflows, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality control procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of shop personnel
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulations
• Manage workflow to meet project deadlines and quality standards
• Conduct regular inspections of fabrication processes and equipment
• Train and mentor staff on fabrication techniques and safety practices
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to interpret blueprints and specifications
• Maintain inventory of materials and supplies, and order as necessary
• Implement quality control measures to ensure high-quality output
  
  

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training preferred
• Proven experience in a supervisory role within a fabrication or construction environment
• Strong knowledge of steel fabrication and structural construction practices
• Familiarity with AISC standards and pre-engineered structures
