Position Summary

Reviews cost status reports for accuracy and integrity.

Supervises subcontractors in his/her responsibility, secures time slips from subcontractors per company forms and requirements on a daily basis. Reviews cost status reports for accuracy and integrity.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Monitor condition of buildings and lot using daily walk around inspection and formal shop safety inspection form.
  • Monitor and record on shop schedule equipment coming in for repair or release.
  • Update shop schedule daily.
  • Schedule equipment cleaning and inspections and repairs, according to job needs by coordinating with Equipment Operations Logistics Foreman
  • Create shop work orders from inspections using knowledge of equipment history, life cycle analysis and equipment operations long term plan for that piece of equipment by coordinating with Equipment Operations Superintendent.

Duties/Responsibilities Cont.

  • Provide line item repair time estimates on shop work orders and record on shop schedule an estimated finish time.
  • Assign repairs to shop technicians using knowledge of technician’s strengths and qualifications.
  • Monitor technicians work practices and adherence to safety rules and procedures.
  • Review and approve time cards daily.
  • Monitor work order progress and update work orders daily.
  • Approve parts purchases and shop inventories and supervise parts pick up by shop clerk.
  • Review purchase orders and ensure PO numbers are entered on work orders daily.
  • Schedule and follow up with repairs requiring the assistance of outside vendors.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 10 hour OSHA certification required; 30 hour certification preferred.
  • Working knowledge of standards, specifications, codes, regulations and laws
  • Working knowledge of applicable OSHA and DOT guidelines.
  • 1-3+ years’ experience
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and must meet Branch Group Fleet Policy requirements and maintain “Approved Driver” status.
  • Must have excellent communications skills
  • Ability to use good judgement with the ability to be an effective decision maker
  • Has an ability to get job done with minimal supervision, on time, within budget or better.

Travel is infrequent at project site. However, employee should be willing and able to travel to project site.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position will potentially supervise 5 or more employees.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position requires employee to frequently stand, walk, twist, bend, handle objects, reach outward, and reach above head and shoulders, climb, squat, kneel, bend, and occasionally lift, carry, push, pull, move, drag on flat ground or steep slopes up to 50 lbs. The employee may be required to enter confined spaces by climbing or crawling.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position which will typically involve 50+ hours a week. Due to the nature of the job, the employee must be available on-call early/late hours to deal with delays, bad weather and emergencies at the job site.
