Job summary

Clean Harbors Kingston, MA, is seeking a Shop Manager to lead a state-of-the-art facility, directing daily manufacturing, assembly, and maintenance operations. You will ensure safety, quality, and efficiency while delivering on production targets and cost objectives.

Lead a team of supervisors, technicians, and staff, coordinate with engineering and maintenance, and drive continuous improvement through lean initiatives and data-driven actions.

Qualifications

• Experience leading manufacturing, assembly, maintenance, and operations teams.
• 5+ years of management experience in manufacturing, trucking, heavy equipment, automotive, or transportation industries.
• Strong knowledge of production planning, quality systems, six sigma, and lean manufacturing principles.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and direct daily manufacturing and production activities.
• Manage production schedules to meet delivery requirements.
• Supervise production supervisors, technicians, assemblers, and support staff.
• Monitor productivity, labor utilization, and operational efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, environmental, and company safety standards.
• Implement lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and waste reduction initiatives.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, maintenance, and logistics teams.
• Maintain quality control standards for truck components, assemblies, and finished vehicles.
• Analyze production data and develop corrective actions to improve performance.
• Manage departmental budgets and control manufacturing costs.
• Support preventive maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime.
• Train, coach, and evaluate employee performance.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Clean Harbors Kingston, MA is looking for a Shop Manager to join their safety conscious team! This position will be responsible for the state-of-the-art facility and keeping up with continuous improvements and the safety culture within the organization.

The Shop Manager is responsible for overseeing production, assembly, maintenance, and operational processes related to manufacturing, fleet equipment, or heavy-duty vehicle production. This role ensures production targets, quality standards, safety requirements, and cost objectives are achieved while leading teams to maximize efficiency and continuous improvement.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and manufacturing reporting systems.
