Job summary

Collins Aerospace on-site role seeks a Shop Floor Planner to coordinate production flow in assembly, ensuring schedules align with quality and safety.

You will work with production, supply chain, quality, and engineering to optimize resources, monitor progress, and implement improvements. This role is within RTX Collins Aerospace with strong team collaboration.

Excellent planning, ERP/MRP proficiency, and communication skills are essential; SAP familiarity is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
  • Strong understanding of production planning and scheduling principles. Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing software tools
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, etc)

Responsibilities

  • Review and interpret production schedules and customer requirements to develop shop floor work plans
  • Coordinate the release of work orders to the production floor, ensuring availability of necessary materials, tools, and resources
  • Monitor work progress and ensure adherence to schedules, making adjustments as needed to meet deadlines
  • Collaborate with supply chain and inventory teams to address material shortages or delays and resolve issues promptly
  • Partner with the quality team to ensure all production activities meet established quality standards
  • Communicate with production supervisors and team leads to prioritize tasks and address bottlenecks or constraints
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and increase productivity
  • Maintain accurate records of work orders, production schedules, and resource allocation
