Job summary

Standard Bots in Glen Cove, NY, is seeking an engineer to own production processes from design to final test. This on-site role requires daily presence on the factory floor and direct impact on yield, cycle time, and quality.

You will run DFMA reviews, design fixtures, own process flows for assemblies, and spot automation opportunities. You will work with product, mechanical, quality, and production teams as the company scales.

Qualifications

• Hands-on production-level experience with DFM/DFA and fixture design.
• Experience documenting processes and creating routings/BOMs.
• CAD proficiency in SolidWorks or Onshape.
• Knowledge of lean tools and 5S/6S for waste reduction.

Responsibilities

• Review DFMA with product and engineering to improve assemblability and cost.
• Design, build, and validate fixtures, tooling, and workstations.
• Own process flow for assigned assemblies and support NPI.
• Spot automation opportunities and build a solid business case.
• Drive gains in yield, cycle time, and first-pass quality.
• Run root cause analysis on defects and implement corrective actions.
• Contribute to PFMEAs and control plans.
• Use time studies and lean tools to cut waste.
• Write and maintain work instructions, routings, and BOMs.
• Track process metrics and report weekly.
