Job summary

Smith Industries is seeking a dependable Shop & Facility Helper to assist with general housekeeping, cleaning, and upkeep of our shop and facility. This is a hands-on position responsible for helping maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment for our employees.

The ideal candidate is dependable, ready to perform cleaning and general labor duties, and comfortable in an active manufacturing setting with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform general housekeeping and cleanup throughout the shop and facility.
• Empty trash cans and dispose of trash and debris in designated areas.
• Clean and maintain shop restrooms and office restrooms and common areas.
• Sweep and clean shop floors, walkways, entrances, and other work areas.
• Follow all company safety procedures and wear required PPE.
• Report spills, unsafe conditions, or facility concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Perform general housekeeping and cleanup throughout the shop and facility.
• Empty trash cans and dispose of trash and debris in designated areas.
• Clean and maintain shop restrooms.
• Assist with cleaning office restrooms and common areas as needed.
• Sweep and clean shop floors, walkways, entrances, and other work areas.
• Pick up and properly dispose of debris and other materials.
• Help keep common areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
• Assist with general facility and shop-support tasks as needed.
• Follow all company safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Report spills, unsafe conditions, or facility concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Must be dependable and maintain regular and reliable attendance.
• Willing and able to perform cleaning, housekeeping, and general labor duties.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete assigned tasks independently.
• Comfortable working in an active manufacturing/shop environment.
• Must be willing to assist in different areas of the facility as needed.

Physical Requirements

This is a physically active position that requires frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting. The employee must be able to safely perform general housekeeping and facility-support duties in a manufacturing environment.
