Job summary

Smith Industries is seeking a dependable Shop & Facility Helper to assist with general housekeeping, cleaning, and upkeep of our shop and facility. This hands-on role focuses on maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment for all employees.

The position requires performing various cleaning tasks, adhering to safety procedures, and supporting different areas of the facility as needed to keep operations smooth and hazard-free.

Qualifications

• Must be dependable with regular attendance.
• Willing and able to perform cleaning, housekeeping, and general labor duties.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks independently.
• Comfortable working in an active manufacturing/shop environment.
• Willing to assist in different areas of the facility as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform general housekeeping and cleanup throughout the shop and facility.
• Empty trash cans and dispose of trash and debris in designated areas.
• Clean and maintain shop restrooms.
• Assist with cleaning office restrooms and common areas as needed.
• Sweep and clean shop floors, walkways, entrances, and other work areas.
• Pick up and properly dispose of debris and other materials.
• Help keep common areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
• Assist with general facility and shop-support tasks as needed.
• Follow all company safety procedures and wear required PPE.
• Report spills, unsafe conditions, or facility concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
