Edwards, Inc. is a full-service industrial general contractor providing construction, fabrication, and crane services. We are currently seeking a Shop / Equipment Operator in our Wilmington, NC office.

The Shop / Equipment Operator Will Be Responsible For

• Completing work as assigned by the shop supervisor.
• Assisting in running shop machinery and equipment (e.g., CNC laser, waterjet, press brakes, shears, milling machines, lathes).
• Providing technical assistance (interpretation of drawings) as needed.
• Adhering to safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with project procedures, safety programs, and work rules.
• Performing additional assignments as directed by supervisor or project manager.

Ideal Candidates Should Have

Physical requirements include, but are not limited to:

• Walking/standing on surfaces that may be uneven or unstable.
• Working in confined spaces and climbing.
• Ability to routinely lift up to 75+ lbs.
• Excellent hand/eye coordination, depth perception, and peripheral vision.

Essential Requirements & Skills

• Mechanically minded.
• Familiar with piping systems and hand/power tools.
• Welding experience.
• Experience with press brakes, shears, waterjet, laser, and plasma machines.
• Ability to read drawings, sketches, and blueprints.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
• Strong communication skills and safety commitment.

Additional Skills

• HS Diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.

Working conditions may be indoor or outdoor. Schedule may include overtime, overnight, and weekend work. Pre-employment screenings may include drug tests, physical assessments, criminal background checks, MVR, and skills evaluations. Pay is commensurate with experience.
