Shop Equipment Mechanic

Location: Woodbridge, VA

Pay: $25.00 to $35.00 per hour

Job Type: Full-time

Chesapeake Automotive Equipment is looking for a dependable and experienced technician to support field service operations. This role involves working directly with automotive service facilities to install, maintain, and repair essential shop equipment.

What You Will Do
  • Install and service equipment used in automotive repair facilities, including lifts and compressed air systems
  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure safe operation
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and complete repairs in the field
  • Assess job sites and determine appropriate solutions for installation or service needs
  • Manage service calls independently while maintaining clear communication with customers
  • Track completed work, materials used, and recommended follow‑up actions
  • Follow all safety standards and company procedures
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and daily service readiness
What We Are Looking For
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience working with automotive or industrial equipment
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical and electrical systems
  • Previous experience in a shop or field service environment
  • Ability to work independently and stay organized throughout the day
