Fleet Services By Cox Automotive is currently searching for an experienced Shop Diesel Technician Level II. The technician will be responsible for performing licensed DOT Inspections, Preventative Maintenance inspections, light and follow-up repairs, mechanical/hydraulic/electrical and electronic diagnostics, and other duties as assigned.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performing preventive maintenance services on truck and trailer equipment efficiently and timely.
- Diagnose, adjust, and repair various types of truck equipment including electrical, brake, cooling systems, starters, alternators, air conditioning, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering systems, engines (gas and diesel), transmissions (manual and automatic), clutches, differentials, etc.
- Identify problems, determine accuracy and relevance of information, using sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives.
- Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments such as handheld computers and pressure gauges.
- Maintain effective interaction with all parties to ensure customer needs are understood and explained, and work is completed in compliance with safety, health, environmental policies, and federal regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and DOT.
- Perform other duties, projects, and tasks as assigned.
WHAT YOU NEED:
- Valid driver’s license is required; safe driving record needed.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field, or any higher degree/certification beyond high school.
- Possession of a valid DOT Medical Card or ability to obtain one prior to employment or within 72 hours of hire.
- Own and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.
- Participation in and completion of all company-required training.
