Job summary

Kent Companies in Traverse City, MI seeks an entry level Mechanic Shop Coordinator to support shop operations and assist with tool and equipment maintenance. This role is ideal for someone with basic mechanical knowledge who wants to learn and grow within the concrete construction industry.

The Shop Coordinator will help maintain, organize and repair tools and equipment used in concrete forming and finishing while assisting with daily shop and yard operations.

Qualifications

• Leather work boots and steel/toe protection recommended.
• Reliable transportation to job locations.
• Ability to pass drug screening.
• Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future.

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic maintenance and repairs of construction equipment, hand tools, power tools, and small engines.
• Assist Shop Manager with inspections, troubleshooting and preventative maintenance.
• Load and unload equipment, materials and supplies; operate forklifts/skid loaders (training available).
• Track tools and equipment to ensure proper inventory and availability.
• Prepare tools and materials for field crews; perform general labor as needed.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, hazard-free work environment.

Summary

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Entry Level Mechanic Shop Coordinator to support our shop operations in Traverse City MI This role is ideal for someone with basic mechanical knowledge who is eager to learn and grow within the concrete construction industry The Shop Coordinator will help maintain organize and repair tools and equipment used in concrete forming and finishing while assisting with daily shop and yard operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

Work EnvironmentPhysical Demand

This position works outside at job locations traveling to the field to work and supervise projects daily This position will demand long periods of walking standing and working in all sorts of weather hot cold and rainy days

Position type travel and expected hours of work

This full time field position requires travel to local job locations in and around Traverse City MI Typical hours will range from 45 50 hours per week and are subject to change This role requires working nontypical days and irregular hours based on construction schedules Due to the critical nature of the role accepting phone calls even during nontypical workdays and hours is also necessary
