Job summary

Bragg Companies in Long Beach, CA is hiring a Shop Attendant to support the shop and Fuel Island under the supervision of the Shop Manager. You will perform cleaning, debris removal, and basic upkeep of the shop and Fuel Island areas.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or equivalent, ability to lift 50 lbs, good communication, and the capacity to work with coworkers, vendors and customers. Forklift operation will be certified by the company.

Qualifications

• Physically able to lift at least 50 lbs and perform daily tasks safely.
• Able to operate a 5K forklift (company will certify).
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Use floor cleaning machine to clean bay floors.
• Keep shop and fuel island areas clear of debris and fluids.
• Keep trash cans and rag cans emptied.
• Dispose of empty aerosol cans properly.
• Drain used oil and keep containers properly stored.
• Ensure labels on hazardous waste containers are visible and completed.
• Drain and store used oil container barrels.
• Be self-directed and perform duties as needed.

Under the supervision of the Shop Manager, the Shop Attendant will perform specific tasks associated with the cleaning of the shop and Fuel Island.

Core Duties

• Use a floor cleaning machine to clean bay floors.
• Keep the shop and fuel island areas clear of debris and fluids.
• Keep trash cans and soiled rag cans emptied.
• Place empty aerosol cans in provided bins for proper disposal.
• Keep drain oil pans emptied into used oil tank and returned to storage area.
• Ensure that all labels for hazardous waste containers are visible and properly completed.
• Check that all used filters are drained and stored in provided used filter barrels.
• Drain all used oil container barrels
• Be self-directed and perform job functions as needed.

Skills and Experience Required

• Possess good communication skills – oral & written
• Able to work well with co-workers, vendors, and customers, etc.
• Physically able use tools needed to perform daily tasks, lift at least 50 lbs, work in a changing environment and to perform your duties in a safe manner.
• Operate a 5K forklift. The company will certify you.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Other Requirements

• Must be a minimum of 21 yrs. Old.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test.
• Authorized to work in the US.

Physical Demands

• Physically able to do the tasks described, lift at least 50 lbs. and work safely.
• Use their hands to handle equipment, arms, legs and back to perform tasks such as lifting, carrying, sweeping and moping.
• Will be required to work in settings with extreme cold or extreme heat, depending on time of year.
• Prolonged periods of working, standing, sitting and driving.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.

Pay Rate: $21.01 per hour
