Job summary
Sonsray is hiring a Shop Assistant at our San Leandro, CA location. This full-time role supports daily service operations by preparing, moving, and cleaning heavy equipment, assisting with check-in/check-out, and maintaining a clean shop and yard.
You will work with the service team to load/unload equipment and perform basic PM tasks while delivering friendly customer service. With 1–2 years in rental equipment or heavy machinery and a valid driver's license, you will thrive in a fast-paced shop

Responsibilities
- Check in/out equipment with proper documentation.
- Deliver and station equipment as needed for operations.

- Pressure wash, clean, polish equipment to maintain presentation.
- Assist with yard duties and daily tasks.
- Maintain shop and yard cleanliness and organization.
- Provide exceptional customer service and address needs promptly.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term business relationships.
- Occasionally travel to customer locations for deliveries or assistance.

Salary Range: $20 to $25 depending on exp.
Position Summary:
The Shop Assistant supports daily service operations at Sonsray Machinery in San Leandro by preparing, moving, and cleaning heavy equipment, assisting with equipment check-in and check-out, and maintaining a clean, organized shop and yard. This hands‑on role works closely with the service team to safely load and unload equipment, assist with basic preventive maintenance, and support deliveries as needed while providing professional customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Check in and check out equipment, ensuring proper documentation and handling.
- Deliver and station equipment as needed for operations.
- Load and unload equipment and materials safely and efficiently.
- Pressure wash, clean, and polish equipment to maintain presentation standards.
- Assist personnel with daily tasks and various yard duties.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop and yard.
- Perform basic mechanical duties such as preventive maintenance (PM) services when needed.
- Provide exceptional customer service and address customer needs promptly.
- Build and maintain strong, long‑term business relationships.
- Operate in and around heavy diesel equipment and shop environments.
- Occasionally travel to customer or prospective client locations for deliveries or assistance.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management to support dealership operations.
Qualifications:
- 1-2 yrs experience with rental equipment, heavy machine operation, shop and yard clean up.
- Minor heavy equipment repairs.
- Ability to work in and around heavy diesel equipment and shop environments.
- Strong customer service skills with a professional and approachable demeanor.
- Basic mechanical knowledge; ability to perform PM services is highly desired.
- Ability to safely load/unload and transport equipment and materials.
- Comfortable working in varying outdoor and shop conditions.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record for occasional travel.
