Job summary

Utility Keystone is seeking a dedicated shop assistant to support the service department and uphold our safety and quality standards. The role focuses on keeping the shop clean, organized, and efficient, ensuring daily operations run smoothly.

Responsibilities include assisting technicians, maintaining safety checks, managing supplies, and supporting snow removal when needed. This position emphasizes teamwork, reliability, and a professional attitude in a fast-paced shop environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 3–6 months related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of entire shop and customer areas.
• Perform daily shop safety inspections and sweep sheets.
• Monitor bulk supplies and notify supervisor to prevent shortages.
• Assist technicians with minor repairs after other tasks are complete.
• Assist with snow removal and keeping areas clear from customer units.
• Operate forklift and perform daily checklist.
• Pickup and deliver parts to vendors.
• Perform monthly fire extinguisher inspection.

Job Summary:

Assist the service department with any duties that aid in daily operations.

Essential Duties:

• Maintain cleanliness of entire shop (excluding technician bays and toolboxes)
• Perform daily shop safety inspection
• Perform daily shop sweep sheets
• Monitor bulk supplies and notify supervisor to prevent shortages
• Maintain cleanliness customer service area
• Maintain cleanliness of shop employee's locker room and office
• Maintain and inventory all shop tools, air compressors
• Maintain and monitor maintenance schedule for floor scrubbers
• Assist technicians with minor repairs (after all other tasks are complete)
• Assist with snow removal and keeping snow clear from customer units (as needed)
• Categorize and recycle scrap metal, bulk fluids, and cardboard
• Operate forklift and perform daily checklist
• Pickup parts and deliver parts to vendors
• Perform monthly fire extinguisher inspection

Education and Experience:

• Education - High school diploma or GED; 3-6 months related experience/training preferred

Physical Environments:

• Noise levels are moderate to high at times.
• Physical exertion is moderate to heavy, must be able to occasionally lift/move up to 100 pounds.
• Work is performed in a shop environment, must be able to stand and climb into trailers.
