Job summary

Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) is seeking a Shop Administrative Technician III to provide administrative support, data entry in the Maximo CMMS, and procurement activities across MDTA facilities. You will generate work orders, manage records, and assist with inventory and filing in a centralized system.

The role reports to the Intelligent Transportation Systems Manager or designated officials, with vacancies in Baltimore County and Prince George's County.

Qualifications

  • Typing speed of at least 20 words per minute preferred.

Nature of Work

The Shop Administrative Technician III (SAT III) performs administrative and technical support duties for department operations, including data entry and records management in a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), tracking labor, tools, and material requisitions, and reporting operational issues to appropriate supervisors. This position reviews purchase orders and purchasing card records for proper account information and procures materials, supplies, and services in accordance with applicable State procurement regulations and contracts. This role performs general office functions, including correspondence, customer service, filing, mail distribution, scheduling, and maintenance of personnel records. The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Complete all data entry into the Maximo CMMS, including tracking of labor hours and reporting problems to the supervisors and managers;
  • Generate work orders and reports for the supervisors and managers;
  • Maintain vehicle unit numbers; send additions, deletions and/or corrections to the Inventory Management section to update the central database files;
  • Prepare and review purchase orders and purchasing card logs for proper general ledger (GL) account information;
  • Procure materials, supplies and services for the department using State contracts;
  • Prepare paperwork for annual physical and fixed asset inventories, including counting items and entering data into the Maximo inventory system; and
  • Organize and maintain files, including personnel actions and leave records, and other timekeeping documentation

Employees in this position will report directly to the Intelligent Transportation Systems Manager, Chief Facility Maintenance Officer, or other designated officials. The current vacancies are located in Baltimore County, MD, and Prince George's County, MD. This recruitment may be used to fill future vacancies throughout the Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA).

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from a standard high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Two (2) years of experience performing administrative support work and/or receiving, storing, and issuing supplies, materials, and equipment in a storeroom, warehouse, or other supply storage facility. May require the ability to type accurately at a speed of not less than twenty words per minute.

Licenses & Certifications
