Job summary

Scheels in Wichita is seeking part-time team members for the shoe department. Roles include stocking, customer assistance, and processing returns with a focus on inventory accuracy and friendly service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 1–3 months of related retail/sales experience preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer-service skills.
• Able to work 2–3 shifts 5:00 PM–9:00 PM with weekend availability.

Responsibilities

• Effectively retrieve shoes from back stocks and transport them to the staging area for sales associates.
• Process unpurchased items and customer returns to their correct locations while maintaining an organized work environment to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Assist in Men’s, Women’s, and Youth shoe departments as needed.
• Proactively engage customers with a warm, welcoming demeanor and offer immediate assistance.
• Ensure all necessary technology and devices are prepped and functional prior to the start of each shift.
• Partner closely with Specialty Shop Managers to identify and address urgent department needs.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to present information clearly to customers and team members.
• Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively across all levers of the organization.
• The ability to perform basic calculations.
• Ability to work assigned schedule, which may include varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by the leadership team.

Schedule:

Average 20 hours per week by working 2-3 shifts during the week, generally 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and minimum of 2 weekends per month (Saturdays between 9:30 AM - 9:00 PM; Sundays 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM).

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma, or general education degree (GED), preferred
• 1-3 months of related retail/sales experience, preferred

Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements:

Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.

Medium work –

Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
