Responsibilities

• Perform Navy shock testing using LBIM and MWSM systems.
• Prepare test setups, test articles, instrumentation, and associated equipment.
• Operate and monitor shock test equipment throughout testing activities.
• Install, verify, and troubleshoot test instrumentation and data acquisition equipment.
• Collect, record, and validate test data during and after testing.
• Monitor test conditions and ensure procedures are followed.
• Identify and document test anomalies, equipment issues, and deviations.
• Assist with test preparation and laboratory readiness.
• Prepare detailed test records, data packages, and technical test reports.
• Support engineering in the analysis and interpretation of test results.
• Follow Navy, laboratory, safety, and quality-control procedures.
• Perform other testing and technical support duties as assigned.

Position Summary

E-Logic, Inc. is seeking an experienced Shock Test Technician to support Navy shock testing activities in a Survivability Laboratory in Newport, RI. The technician will be responsible for preparing, executing, monitoring, and documenting shock tests using Navy shock test equipment and instrumentation.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating both Linear-Biaxial Impact Machine (LBIM) and Medium Weight Shock Machine (MWSM) systems and be experienced in collecting and documenting test data in accordance with applicable Navy testing procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform Navy shock testing using Linear-Biaxial Impact Machine (LBIM) and Medium Weight Shock Machine (MWSM) systems.
• Prepare test setups, test articles, instrumentation, and associated equipment.
• Operate and monitor shock test equipment throughout testing activities.
• Install, verify, and troubleshoot test instrumentation and data acquisition equipment.
• Collect, record, and validate test data during and after testing.
• Monitor test conditions and ensure testing is conducted in accordance with approved procedures.
• Identify and document test anomalies, equipment issues, and deviations.
• Assist with test preparation, equipment inspections, and laboratory readiness.
• Prepare detailed test records, data packages, and technical test reports.
• Support engineering personnel in the analysis and interpretation of test results.
• Follow applicable Navy, laboratory, safety, and quality-control procedures.
• Perform other testing and technical support duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of total professional experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience conducting Linear-Biaxial Impact Machine (LBIM) testing.
• Minimum 5 years of experience conducting Medium Weight Shock Machine (MWSM) testing.
• Hands-on experience with Navy shock testing equipment and test instrumentation.
• Experience collecting, documenting, and reporting test data.
• Ability to work on-site in Newport, RI.

Preferred Qualifications

• 7 or more years of LBIM and MWSM testing experience.
• At least 1 year of experience operating Category III cranes.
• Active Secret security clearance.
• Experience supporting U.S. Navy survivability or shock testing programs.

Work Environment

This is an on-site position in Newport, Rhode Island and requires hands-on work in a laboratory/testing environment. The position may require working around heavy equipment, test machinery, instrumentation, and lifting equipment.
