Job summary

Rhoads Industries in Philadelphia’s Navy Yard seeks experienced Structural Steel Fabricators to fabricate, assemble and install ship structural components. You’ll read blueprints, weld and fit bulkheads, frames and hull sections with a focus on precision and safety.

Roles offer 1st shift or 2nd shift with overtime and paid training. Career progression includes additional pay levels as you advance through the training program and certifications.

Qualifications

• Must understand technical drawings, blueprints and specifications.
• Experience with metal fabrication and welding processes is required.
• Ability to work in a maritime/shipbuilding environment with attention to quality.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and analyze drawings and specs to determine requirements.
• Fabricate and assemble structural components using metalworking techniques.
• Measure, cut and shape metal to exact specifications.
• Install components per project plans; inspect finished work.
