Job summary

Rhoads Industries, Inc. is seeking experienced Structural Steel Fabricators to join our team in Philadelphia. The Structural Steel Fabricator will fabricate, assemble, and install structural components for ships and marine vessels, using blueprints and metalworking tools.

Flexibility for 1st shift (Mon-Thu 6am-4:30pm) or 2nd shift (Mon-Thu 4pm–2:30am) with overtime. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in ship fitting, ability to read technical drawings, and strong welding and metalworking skills.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of shipbuilding principles and blueprints
• Proficient in reading blueprints and technical drawings
• Excellent welding and metalworking skills

Responsibilities

• Interpret and analyze technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine project requirements.
• Fabricate and assemble structural components, such as bulkheads, frames, and hull sections, using various metalworking techniques and equipment.
• Measure, cut, and shape metal components to precise specifications.
• Install components and systems in accordance with project plans and specs.
• Perform repairs and modifications to ship structures as needed.
• Inspect work pieces to meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
