Job summary

Rhoads Industries Inc. at The Navy Yard in Philadelphia seeks a Pipe Fitter to assemble and install complex piping systems for machinery and equipment.

You will read drawings and PI&IDs, layout piping, prepare pipe spools for welders, and coordinate with the installation team on site. The role requires five years of pipe fitting experience, strong math and measurement skills, and flexibility to work shifts, including nights.

Qualifications

• Five years in pipe fitting required.
• High school graduate.
• Experience fitting and assembling piping per NAVSEA TP 278 is a plus.
• Willing to work flexible hours including night shift.
• OSHA 10 safety training preferred; current is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Reads and deciphers scope, drawings, and PI&Ds to determine piping layouts and build methods.
• Interprets bill of material ensuring assemblies align with called-out materials.
• Lays out piping runs to targets and ensures proper fit and main tie-ins.
• Prepares and fits pipe spools for welders per publications and specs.
• Assembles piping in systems and bolts to foundations or equipment.
• Works with welders, installation group, and supervisor.
• Performs duties safely according to site standards.
• Other duties as assigned.
