Job summary

Avail Staffing Company is seeking an experienced Inside Machinist for a shipyard setting. The role focuses on fabricating, maintaining, and repairing machinery per blueprints and specifications.

You will set up and operate machine tools, working independently to ensure quality and precision. Requirements include 5+ years operating manual or CNC lathes/milling machines, reading blueprints, and performing precision measurements.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, manuals, and specifications.
• Proficient in setting up, operating, and inspecting machining tools.
• Capable of precise measurement and tolerancing using micrometers and calipers.

Responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints, sketches, manuals, and specifications to determine machining requirements.
• Set up and operate machine tools including lathes, milling machines, drill presses, grinders, jig borers, and boring machines.
• Perform machining operations, verify dimensions and tolerances, and adjust machines as needed.
• Measure and inspect parts using precision tools and ensure quality standards are met.
• Collaborate with engineers and production staff to resolve technical issues.
