Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, seeks a Foreman to supervise trades personnel and translate broad strategies into practical action plans.

Responsibilities include training, enforcing procedures, ensuring quality, and managing manufacturing, installation and testing with financial impact across shifts. Eligible applicants may receive a $5,000 sign-on bonus. U.S. citizenship may be required for certain positions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or recognized apprenticeship.
• Apprentice certification acceptable.
• High school with 4 years manufacturing, shipbuilding, trades or military experience.
• Associate degree in a trade/technical field with 3 years of related manufacturing, shipbuilding or military experience.

Responsabilités

• Supervise, assign, coordinate and evaluate semi-skilled and skilled trades personnel according to their skill, experience and job knowledge.
• Train employees to improve quality and productivity.
• Ensure compliance with drawings, procedures and other technical standards.
• Oversee manufacturing, installation, operation, testing and process steps with meaningful financial impact.
• Monitor budgets and job performance across shifts.
