Job summary

Simon & Schuster is seeking a 1st Shift Warehouse Supervisor to manage a shipping dock in Riverside, NJ. The role oversees 5–10 employees, ensures accurate order fulfillment, and monitors distribution flow to domestic and international customers.

The position requires a college degree or equivalent experience, forklift/pallet jack certification, and a proven ability to meet daily quotas while maintaining safety and efficiency. OT and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• College degree or commensurate work experience.
• Supervisory experience in distribution/warehouse.
• Experience meeting daily quotas and standards.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Forklift and pallet jack certification.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• MS Office, including Access.
• Ability to lead and motivate employees.
• Adherence to safety standards and policies.
• Able to stand for long hours and lift 50 lbs.
• Willing to work OT and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Supervise 5-10 employees on a shipping dock.
• Monitor the continuous flow of distribution to customers.
• Prepare and ship orders according to wave schedule.
• Participate in all related tasks to meet projections.
• Responsible for scanning on the dock.
• Oversee all departments/employees from 3am-5am.
• Oversee full case duties on Saturday and as needed.
