Job summary

Smurfit Westrock Company is seeking a Shipping Technician to move raw materials, WIP, and finished goods within the facility. You will load/unload, stage materials, and coordinate with production and carriers to ensure on-time deliveries.

This role emphasizes safety, accuracy in documentation, and a clean, orderly work area; forklift experience is preferred and a valid certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read and understand shipping documents and labels.
• Basic math skills; ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
• Ability to follow established processes and work in sequence.
• Ability to work independently with occasional supervision.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Transport raw materials, WIP, and finished goods using pallet jacks, hand trucks, and forklifts.
• Load and unload rolls and materials from trucks.
• Move materials between departments using pallet jacks.
• Stage finished loads for storage and production.
• Coordinate with production to prepare materials per schedule.
• Process and ship customer orders while coordinating with carriers.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Support 5S initiatives and housekeeping standards.
• Follow safety policies and packaging safety requirements.
