Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking a Material Receiving Coordinator to ensure the warehouse runs smoothly, supply production with materials, and maintain safety/quality standards. The role spans packaging, material pulls, palletizing, and shipping/receiving duties in a fast-paced plant.

The position requires at least 2 years of material handling experience, forklift operation skills, and familiarity with FIFO/Kanban.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience handling materials.
• Forklift experience (Stand up/Sit down).
• Experience using wrapping machines and basic hand tools.
• Ability to conduct physical inventory/cycle counting.
• Knowledge of Safety, 5S, LEAN /TPS Toyota Production System a plus.
• Ability to work in a team; overtime and/or weekends and rotate shifts as needed.
• Basic computer skills (email, Excel).
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and maintenance instructions.
• Must be able to lift and stack objects up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
• Load and unload trucks; verify quantities received/shipped.
• Maintain resin logs and FIFO/Kanban knowledge.
• Perform weekly inventory physical counts and reconcile discrepancies.
• Back up team members as needed and follow Supervisor instructions.
• Keep work area clean and follow safety policies.
