Job description

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Shipping Technician I (1st Shift).

The hourly rate for this position is $16.11 per hour.

What you’ll do:

Position Overview:

The Shipping Technician I will execute tasks including visual inspection, boxing, packing, and shipping finished products and raw materials, as appropriate.

In this function, you will:

• Support the supply chain materials process to fulfill customer requirements/orders by producing quality products safely and in a timely manner following Standard Work.
• Comply with environmental, health, and safety guidelines.
• Sustainment of 5S+ in the area.
• Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and complete root cause analysis for quality or production issues.
• Ensure quality through visual inspections, identifying nonconforming parts, and troubleshooting errors.
• Cross-train and stand in for other employees or job functions when necessary.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures, wear proper PPE, and report safety issues immediately.
• Follow standard operating procedures.
• Use material handling equipment such as hand trucks, pallet jacks, and hand tools.
• Use hand tools like banders, impact nail guns, hammers, tape measures, etc., for building crates and boxes.
• Maintain inventory and track shipments using supply chain systems and scanners.
• Use a wood saw and paper former for packing materials.
• Prepare shipping groups and assemblies for shipment or storage.
• Use lift assists and partner lifts when moving materials, with the ability to lift up to 40 lbs and push/pull up to 100 lbs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred qualifications:

• At least 3 months of manufacturing experience in an industrial setting.
• Experience using hand and air tools.
• Proven problem-solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate with team members.
• Ensure shipping components meet quality standards.
• Flexibility and openness to process or task changes.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
