Job summary

Nord Gear Corporation seeks an experienced 2nd Shift Shipping Team Lead to join our team in Wisconsin. You will oversee the Shipping Department, enforce standard work, and drive continuous improvement while leading training for shippers and painters.

The role offers a 4-day workweek and a schedule of 3:00 PM to 1:30 AM, Monday through Thursday, with Fridays off. You will monitor performance, ensure safety, and help achieve production goals while maintaining high-quality shipping operations and

Description

• Facilitates employee efforts to identify, develop, and implement continuous improvement strategies.
• Monitors team performance to ensure compliance with standardized work procedures and leads daily accountability meetings to drive alignment, communication, and continuous improvement.
• Monitors the quality of completed tasks to ensure compliance with production and quality specifications
• Assists in training team members and ensure they receive the proper training to perform their duties safely and effectively.
• Evaluate work performed by team members to identify process improvement opportunities and communicates performance observations to the Shipping Supervisor.
• Monitors and maintains visual controls to support production targets and workflow efficiency.
• Promotes a culture of safety by ensuring team compliance with all established safety policies and procedures.
• Assists the Shipping Supervisor in driving team performance and meeting established company goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical school training strongly preferred. Completion of leadership training is also preferred.

Experience: Three years of production experience required, with a preference for candidates who have shipping and leadership experience.

Skills and Key Attributes: Self-motivated, maintains a positive attitude, possesses a strong understanding of lean principles, demonstrates effective verbal communication and attention to detail, and exhibits strong leadership skills.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50lbs. Ability to stand on feet and move around for up to 8-12 hours per day.
