Quanex is looking for a Shipping Supervisor to join our Sioux Falls, SD team. The role focuses on leading outbound operations, ensuring on-time, complete shipments, and maximizing efficiency.

The successful candidate will blend day-to-day team leadership with proactive planning to optimize labor, volume, and dock availability, coordinating with transportation and customer service for smooth carrier flow, and driving continuous improvement across the outbound process.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in a distribution or logistics environment.
• Leadership experience in a team setting.
• Knowledge of SAP (EWM preferred), Excel, and Power BI.

Responsibilities

• Own outbound execution plan balancing labor, volume, and dock availability.
• Prioritize workload by commitments and customer urgency.
• Coordinate with transport and customer service to ensure flow to carrier.
• Manage team for performance, accuracy and efficiency.
• Ensure SOPs are followed in outbound activities.
• Monitor daily progress and adjust as needed.
• Lead daily wrap-ups to prepare for next shift.
• Track KPIs and perform root cause analyses for missed shipments.
• Communicate with planning, customer service, and transport teams.
• Lead huddles to align commitments and workload distribution.
• Identify inefficiencies and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Quanex is looking for a Shipping Supervisor to join our team located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Typical Schedule: Monday-Friday 6:00am-2:30 pm.

We are seeking a strategic and data driven leader to lead and elevate outbound operations. This role blends day to day team leadership with proactive planning and execution to ensure outbound shipments are completed on time, in full, and with maximum efficiency.

• Strong communication skills across levels and functions.

Your Credentials

• 3–5 years of experience in a distribution or logistics environment.
• 1–2 years in a leadership role with supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of SAP (EWM preferred), Excel, and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI).

The salary range for this position is $60,000 to $75,000 with the potential to earn an annual bonus.
