Job summary

Cimolai-HY LLC is seeking a Shipping Supervisor to oversee blast and shipping operations in a fast-paced environment. The role focuses on supervising staff, coordinating outbound shipments, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.

You will plan workloads, manage schedules, and troubleshoot to minimize downtime while maintaining compliance. The position emphasizes leadership, attention to detail, and effective communication to drive efficiency, safety, and timely deliveries.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years’ experience in logistics, inventory, warehousing, material handling, heavy equipment or shipping.
• Thorough understanding of DOT Rules and Regulations and familiarity with shipping processes.
• Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, steel fabrication processes, heavy equipment, and freight coordination.
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead employees, coordinating training, assigning tasks, and providing guidance.
• Plan work to achieve priorities efficiently while maintaining quality and safety.
• Monitor finished product movements and coordinate with procurement to ensure supplies.
• Oversee production schedule, troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.
• Maintain work records and assist technicians with machine/system troubleshooting.
• Oversee rigging operations and occasional heavy rigging.
• Operate forklifts, cranes, and manlifts as necessary.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas and enforce safe practices.

The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Blast and Shipping departments, ensuring the departments operate successfully, meet quality standards, stay on schedule, and stay within budget.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years’ experience in logistics, inventory, warehousing, material handling, heavy equipment or shipping.
• Thorough understanding of DOT Rules and Regulations and familiarity with shipping processes.
• Clear attention to detail to ensure safe handling of heavy steel members while preparing and loading carrier trailers.
• At least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, steel fabrication processes, heavy equipment, and freight coordination.
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
• Proficiency in safety regulations and procedures related to steel fabrication.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Able to organize and manage reporting requirements.
• Attention to detail and precision.
• Excellent problem-solving, decision making, and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with Company Management Software/ERP.

• Maintain work records as required.
• Assist technicians with troubleshooting failures of machines and systems.
• Oversee simple rigging operations and occasional heavy or complex rigging.
• Operate forklifts, cranes, and manlifts, as necessary.
• Maintain good housekeeping by cleaning and organizing work areas.
• Ensure that safe working practices are followed.
• Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.
