Job summary

Cascade Engineering in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Shipping/Receiving Technician on the second shift to manage all shipping and receiving activities and provide production support. You will operate a forklift, prepare BOLs, input receipts, and collaborate with the production team to keep warehouse operations running smoothly.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma, basic computer skills (QAD), and experience with BOM and shipping paperwork.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent (PFC Level B) with one year related experience.
  • Understanding of BOM requirements and processing.
  • Strong CE core competencies: interpersonal skills and emotional maturity.
  • Strong math and communication skills.
  • Able to multi-task while maintaining accuracy and consistency.

Responsibilities

  • Operate all shipping/receiving equipment including forklift.
  • Create Bill of Lading (BOLs) for shipments.
  • Enter incoming components and receipts.
  • Coordinate with production on cross-functional teams.
  • Maintain warehouse organization and load shipments per traffic schedule.
  • Ensure accuracy of shipping requests and notify Inventory Team of discrepancies.
  • Understand FIFO and ASN processes where applicable.

Scope of Position

As a Shipping/Receiving Technician at Cascade Engineering, you will work with a supportive, collaborative and dynamic team while being responsible for all shipping and receiving functions and some production handling support. Additionally, you will be performing receiving procedures to input/receive incoming components. You will work closely with the production team and be responsible for several production support functions.

Shift

Second shift from 3pm - 11:10pm including over time and weekends as business needs arise


Target Pay

The target starting base salary for this position is $19.17 - 26.81/hour ( plus $1.00 shift premium and quarterly bonus incentive) . What You'll Be Doing


  • Responsible for utilizing all equipment, including forklift, and performing all tasks in a safe manner

  • Create BOL's (Bill of Lading)

  • Enter in receivers

  • Participates on cross-function teams

  • Maintains plant and warehouse organization

  • Loads and stacks shipments per traffic schedule

  • Ensures accuracy of shipping request

  • Notifies Inventory Team inventory accuracy and discrepancies

  • Understands and practices basic FIFO

  • Understands and is able to transmit ASN's (where applicable) including how to troubleshoot errors and verify ASN acceptance

Requirements


  • High school diploma/GED or PFC Level B with one-year related experience

  • Understanding of BOM requirements and processing

  • Strong CE core competencies (interpersonal skills, emotional maturity)

  • Strong math and communication skills

  • Able to multi-task while maintaining consistency and accuracy in all work

  • Understanding of ISO/TS16949 procedures

  • Basic computer skills, including QAD

  • Inventory control, material handling and cycle counting experience

  • Understanding of BOM requirements and processing

  • Valid forklift Tag

  • Able and willing to perform some work tasks in an outside environment in all weather conditions

  • Valid Driver’s license or be able to use all 4 limbs such as arms, legs (upper and lower limbs), torso/trunk at the shoulder. Have coordination of eyes, hands and feet. Not have any known/documented convulsive disorders and corrected vision (obtain doctor’s note verifying proof of the corrected vision)

  • Valid forklift Tag with one year's experience driving forklift

  • Experience maintaining shipping paperwork, BOL's and creating shipments for external customers
