Job summary

Key People in Harlan, IA is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Associate to verify, prepare, and ship outgoing orders. You will handle labeling, packing, and crate assembly, and operate lift equipment to move shipments to storage or work areas.

Strong attention to detail is required to ensure accuracy and compliance with shipping documents. Qualifications include 1–2 years of shipping/receiving experience, ability to measure and inspect packages, and training opportunities for forklift and crane

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of hands-on shipping and receiving experience.
• Experience with measurement devices is required.
• Forklift experience is a plus (will train).
• Crating or carpentry experience is a plus (will train).
• UPS Worldship and export paperwork experience are pluses.
• Understanding SDS/Hazcom shipping regulations.

Responsibilities

• Verify and keep records on outgoing shipments and prepare items for shipment.
• Determine method of shipment and affix labels on cartons.
• Move shipments using tier lift trucks or hand-trucks.
• Inspect shipments for accuracy, completeness, and conformance to specs.
• Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
• Perform clerical tasks such as data entry and file maintenance.
