Job summary

Workforce Recruiter in Harlan, IA is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Associate to verify outgoing shipments and prepare items for shipment. You will handle documentation, labeling, packaging, and movement of goods through the facility.

The role requires 1-2 years in shipping/receiving, and training in forklift or overhead cranes may be provided. Knowledge of SDS/Hazcom regulations and UPS Worldship is a plus. Strong attention to detail is essential.

Qualifications

1-2 years of hands-on shipping and receiving experience.
Forklift experience a plus, will train.
Overhead crane experience a plus, will train.
Experience with measurement devices a must.
Crating or carpentry experience a plus, will train.
UPS Worldship experience a plus.
Export paperwork experience a plus.
Understanding SDS/Hazcom shipping regulations.

Responsibilities

Compares identifying information and counts weighs, or measures items of outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
Determines the method of shipment.
Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.
Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers.
Insert items into containers.
Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage.
Studies shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping schedules.
Inspect shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
Delivers incoming goods to respective departments.
