Qualifications

• 1–2 years of hands-on shipping and receiving experience.
• Forklift experience is a plus; training will be provided.
• Overhead crane experience is a plus; training will be provided.
• Experience with measurement devices is a must.
• Crating or carpentry experience is a plus; training will be provided.
• UPS WorldShip experience is a plus.
• Export paperwork experience is a plus.
• Understanding SDS/HazCom shipping regulations.

Responsibilities

• Verify and keep records on outgoing shipments against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
• Determine the method of shipment.
• Affix shipping labels on packed cartons or identify shipping information on cartons.
• Assemble wooden or cardboard containers or select preassembled containers.
• Insert items into containers.
• Nails, seals, or binds containers.
• Post weights and shipping charges and affix postage.
• Examine outgoing shipments for specifications.
• Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
• Operate forklift or hand-truck to move shipments.
• Study notices and orders to determine shipping priorities and methods.
• Inspect shipping activities for accuracy and condition.
• Count, weigh, and measure packaging and contents.
• Compare items packed with customer orders and data.
• Perform clerical tasks such as data entry and filing.
• Deliver incoming goods to respective departments.
