Job summary

Holtec in Orrville, Ohio, is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Supervisor to oversee inbound and outbound operations across the shop. The role manages logistics, shipping, and shipment preparation, while unloading trucks, verifying counts, and delivering products to production departments.

The position requires leadership experience, strong problem-solving and organizational skills, and the ability to minimize downtime between production completion and shipping. Shift: Mon–Fri 7am–3:30pm.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 5 years of prior Shipping/Receiving experience.
• 3+ years of leadership/supervisory experience.
• Professional judgment / decision making in customer-related situations.
• Moderate to advanced computer skills.
• Ability to give and follow instructions, and work well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Schedule shipments and dock times, dispatch loads and coordinate with vendors.
• Supervise shipping associates, prioritize work, and monitor quality and quantity of output.
• Maintain inspections, registrations and vehicle titles.
• Lead regular meetings to provide feedback, address issues, and train staff.
• Implement quality improvements and cost-reduction ideas.
• Manage outbound shipments for optimal utilization.
• Negotiate transportation rates and services.
• Communicate notices for shipping and billing purposes.
• Maintain company vehicles and equipment (trailers, forklifts).
• Understand international paperwork for shipments (small parcel and dedicated carriers).

Career Opportunities: Shipping & Receiving Supervisor (1623)

The Shipping and Receiving Supervisor supports all inbound and outbound operations for the entire shop. This role oversees logistics, shipping operations, and preparing shipments, as well as unloading trucks, verifying counts, and delivering product to various departments on the production floor. The ideal candidate will have exceptional problem-solving skills, the ability to prioritize tasks, and ensure minimal down time between product completion and shipping of product.

Shift: Monday – Friday 7am – 3:30pm

Primary Responsibilities:

• Scheduling shipments and dock times, and dispatching loads; all while adhering to established procedures. Work with vendors to deliver / pick up product for operations.
• Supervising shipping associates, including prioritizing and assigning work, and monitoring the quality and quantity of the work performed.
• Maintaining inspections, registrations and vehicle titles.
• Conducting/attending regular meetings with all associates/management to provide quality and performance feedback, address operating issues, and provide training.
• Implementing quality improvement and cost reduction ideas.
• Managing outbound shipments for optimum utilization.
• Negotiate transportation rates and services.
