Job summary

L&S Electric, Inc. in Appleton, WI, is seeking a delivery/shipping associate to manage incoming/outgoing shipments, prepare shipping documents, and coordinate deliveries.

The role requires a valid CDL Class B, DOT log familiarity, and the ability to operate forklifts and basic trucks in varying conditions. You will handle packing, labeling, carrier communications, and inventory maintenance while contributing to a safe, efficient shipping area.

Qualifications

• Valid DOT medical card and Class B CDL or willing to obtain CDL.
• Familiar with driver DOT logs and auditing procedures.
• Ability to operate company trucks in varying weather conditions to safely transport goods or material.
• Possess basic computer knowledge and ability to use the computer efficiently.
• Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Team player and willing to work with minimal supervision.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Must be willing to work overtime, on weekdays, and or weekends to meet customer service requirements.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Able to wear required PPE
• Able to pass pre-employment background check and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Examine contents and compare with records to verify accuracy of shipments.
• Determine shipping method for materials using knowledge of procedures, routes and rates.
• Prepare documents such as work orders and bills of lading for routing.
• Rectify problems with representatives regarding damage or shortages.
• Requisition and store shipping materials to maintain inventory.
• Coordinate with operations to deliver repair materials to departments.
• Pack, seal, label and affix postage for shipping using tools.
• Contact carrier to issue shipping and delivery instructions.
• Record shipment data for reporting and accounting.
• Assist in loading/unloading and keep shipping area organized.
• Prepare shipments for timely dispatch.
• Perform vehicle maintenance including forklift care.
