Job summary

Standard Calibrations, Inc in Chesapeake, VA is seeking a detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Assistant to support daily warehouse operations and help ensure timely deliveries. You will log and stage incoming shipments, perform basic quality checks, prepare packaging and paperwork, and enter data in Sage X3 and related systems; teamwork and accurate records are essential.

The role requires a high school diploma, a valid driver's license, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and the ability to pass a

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record.
Must pass a background check to access military installations and/or shipyards, as needed.
Basic math skills and understanding of weights and dimensions.
Must be comfortable working with power tools for basic carpentry/crate building tasks.
Attention to detail, organized, and able to multitask.
Ability to work as part of a team and take the initiative to work independently.

Responsibilities

Receives, logs, stages, and documents delivered material for distribution.
Performs basic quality inspections and reports non-conforming/damaged material.
Prepares packaging and paperwork for shipments to Mil-Spec standards or best commercial practices; crate construction to contract specification.
Prepares/outbound shipments for conformity to purchase orders or shipping instructions.
Inputs/ extracts data to/from Sage X3 and related platforms to perform shipping functions.
