Position Snapshot

A Material Handler is expected to work safely when moving raw and finished materials in shipping areas using required equipment such as a diesel forklift tractor and overhead lifting crane. It is the Material Handler's responsibility to be part of our safety culture by wearing the proper personal protective equipment, asking for assistance if needed, reporting all issues with materials and equipment, and staying safe. The Material handler needs to follow all company policies and procedures.

To be successful in this role you will:

• Knowledge of safety equipment and safety procedures for shipping/receiving operations
• Visually check the quality of the finished product
• Load and band material as required
• Cycle count material and make sub-inventory transfers in the computer system
• Handle other duties as assigned within the shipping department
• Maintain good housekeeping/neat work area
• Store material in proper locations
• Stage rod at the appropriate door for the production machines
• Be forklift and crane certified

Requirements and Education:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Ability to complete simple forms and understand simple written instructions.
• Ability to perform simple arithmetic skills involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals.
• An equivalent combination of education and work-related experience may be acceptable.
