Job summary

Advastar, Inc. | Recruiting & Staffing seeks a Shipping and Receiving Manager for a growing Southeast Kansas manufacturing site.

You will own on-time outbound shipping and inbound receiving, lead a small team, and ensure ERP data accuracy, loading standards, and safe, efficient freight movement. You will develop the team, coordinate with production, sales, procurement, and project management, manage carrier relationships, and deliver clear shipping documentation and monthly KPI reporting to

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; logistics coursework a plus.
• 2–4 years experience creating bills of lading and international shipping documents.
• 5–7 years leading a shipping/logistics team in a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience directing loading of flatbed/stepdeck trailers.
• 5–7 years working in an ERP system, Dynamics 365 a plus.
• 2–4 years using KPIs to manage shipping/logistics operations.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Proven people leader with decisive on-site decision making.

Responsibilities

• Own on-time outbound shipping for a growing site, inbound receiving, and ERP accuracy.
• Lead and develop the shipping and receiving team with clear accountability.
• Set and enforce loading standards for flatbed and stepdeck freight.
• Manage carrier relationships: rates, scheduling, escalation with local carriers.
• Produce accurate shipping documentation for domestic and international freight (BOL, packing lists, invoices).
• Track site KPIs and report results monthly to logistics leadership.
• Coordinate with production, sales, procurement, and project management to stage orders.
