Job summary

Houston Precision Fasteners (HPF) is seeking a shipping and receiving supervisor to plan, direct, and coordinate daily logistics operations. You will work with production and S&R teams to ensure timely movement of parts, maintain inventory accuracy, and uphold safety policies.

This role requires hands-on leadership, forklift operation, and collaboration across departments to meet schedules. Candidate should have 3–5 years of shipping/logistics experience, proficiency in MS Office and ERP

Qualifications

  • HS diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of related experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced working knowledge with MS Office, Inventory processes and ERP Systems.
  • Experience with exotic metals desired.
  • Analytical skills for process and systems evaluation.

Responsibilities

  • Research and arrange packing per customer specs to expedite material flow for production schedules.
  • Check receivables to ensure orders are filled correctly and materials meet specs.
  • Evaluate information to determine compliance with standards, regulations, and laws.
  • Maintain monthly shelf life for all departments to be audit-ready.
  • Maintain Inventory Controls for shop supplies and ensure min/max levels in ERP.
  • Inspect and operate forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Collaborate with other departments to meet shelf-life requirements.
  • Act as backup for Inventory personnel including receiving raw material and release per job specs.
  • May assist in other areas as needed.

Job Purpose

Plan, direct, and coordinate HPF shipping and receiving activities. Work with production team to manage product while working with other S&R personnel, logistics systems, processes and daily operations. Manage HPF day to day safety issues and programs. Work mostly independently.

Key Responsibilities And Accountabilities
  • Research and arrange all packing per customer specifications for delivery or distribution of parts to expedite flow of materials to meet production schedules
  • Check receivables to ensure that orders have been filled correctly and that materials meet specifications
  • Evaluate information to determine compliance with standards, regulations and laws
  • Maintain monthly shelf life for all department to be audit ready at all times
  • Maintain Inventory Controls for shop supplies and ensure min / max levels are accurate in VET
  • Inspect and operate forklifts and pallet jacks
  • Work with other departments to ensure critical inventory is meeting shelf-life requirements
  • Act as a backup for Inventory personnel to include duties such as; receiving raw material, release material per job specifications, PMI processes, allocate finish and black parts, and work with production as needed for job splits
  • May assist in other areas as needed

Professional Skills
  • HS diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of related experience working in a face paced environment
  • Advanced working knowledge with MS Office, Inventory processes and ERP Systems
  • Experience with exotic metals desired
  • Skilled in process and systems analysis and evaluation to determine how a process should work and how changes affect outcomes as well as identifying measures of performance and monitoring them
Physical Requirements And Working Condition
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, and stand for prolonged periods of time, climb steps, and ladders
  • Must be able to work at heights utilizing fall protection equipment (man lifts, ladders, and stand)
  • Must be able to lift up to 45lbs
  • Subject to environmental conditions -protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes
  • Subject to hazards to include a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals
  • Subject to loud constant noise
  • Subject to atmospheric conditions such as fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation
