Job Description:
- ITW Food Equipment Group, Weigh & Wrap Division is seeking a Shipping Receiving Coordinator for our Hillsboro facility. This position performs a variety of warehouse duties under general supervision, including pulling/checking customer orders, replenishment, shipping, and material handling. Uses ERP system and operates hand and power equipment to move products throughout the facility.
Experience:
- 1-2 years of shipping/receiving experience or work experience in a manufacturing environment.
Skills/Abilities:
- Computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and adjust workflow based on business needs.
- Flexibility with schedule to meet critical deadlines.
- Ability to work independently.
- Working knowledge of parts/application use.
- Basic math and measuring skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Vantage/Epicor experience or knowledge, UPS shipping software knowledge.
- Forklift certification.
- Understanding of MRD application, Kan Ban/2-bin system, and differentiation of expense items versus inventory parts, cycle counting procedures.
Responsibilities (80% Core Essential Functions):
- Receive incoming products and materials, inspect, confirm/file certificates of conformance, and reconcile receiving/purchase documentation in the system (Vantage, Epicor).
- Put away incoming materials and stock production lines.
- Prepare and expedite shipments, including banding/shrink wrapping, creating bills of lading, preparing shipping labels, and entering shipping data into applicable systems.
- Maintain inventory through system updates, cycle counting, Kan Ban setup and maintenance, back-flushing inventory, and updating records upon shipping.
- Ensure accuracy in shipping/receiving documentation, proper delivery of materials, and correct system entries, understanding the financial impact of inventory management.
- Communicate effectively and utilize teamwork with management, accounting, purchasing, assembly, engineering, customer service, warehouse, and outside vendors for scheduling and problem resolution.
- Audit incoming materials for correct piece counts, inspect materials, and involve engineering when necessary.
- File and maintain all required documents, adhering to document retention policies.
- Follow safety standards, including forklift inspection/maintenance, work-area housekeeping, and safe loading/unloading procedures.
Responsibilities (20% Department-specific Core Essential Functions):
- Unpack, examine, and route RMA’s; reject damaged items; document processes.
- Process defective parts or equipment for replacement or credit.
- Assist and train other employees in understanding the Kan Ban process and correct usage.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the workday.
- Maintain a clean work area and assist with cardboard recycling.
- Other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:
- Manufacturing environment without air conditioning.
- PPE required: Steel toe shoes and eye protection; additional PPE may be required based on duties.
- Regularly required to stand, use hands and arms, walk, and lift/move up to 50 pounds throughout the workday.
