Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of shipping or warehouse experience in manufacturing preferred.
• Experience with UPS, FedEx, and LTL freight.
• Proficient reading of work orders, packing lists, and shipping docs.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Basic computer skills and MS Office.
• Ability to work independently and in a team setting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare customer orders for shipment according to work orders.
• Verify part numbers, quantities, revisions, and shipping docs before shipment.
• Package products to prevent damage during transport.
• Create shipping labels and documents using ERP and shipping software.
• Coordinate shipments with UPS, FedEx, LTL, and other freight carriers.
• Load/unload shipments safely using material handling equipment.
• Maintain shipping logs, packing lists, bills of lading, and records.
• Ensure shipments meet customer, quality, and company requirements.
• Communicate shipping issues or delays to appropriate departments.
• Maintain a clean, organized, safe shipping area.
• Assist with inventory counts and receiving activities when needed.

FabMax is a leading precision sheet metal fabrication company serving customers in a variety of industries. We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will ensure customer orders are accurately packaged, documented, and shipped on time while maintaining a safe and organized shipping department.

The Shipping Clerk is responsible for preparing outgoing shipments, verifying product accuracy, generating shipping documentation, coordinating carrier pickups, and maintaining accurate shipping records. This position works closely with Production, Quality, Customer Service, and Purchasing to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.

Requirements

• Experience using ERP systems; manufacturing ERP experience is a plus.
• Ability to read work orders, packing lists, and shipping documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable attendance and a positive work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in sheet metal fabrication or manufacturing.
• Forklift experience or certification (or willingness to become certified).
• Experience with barcode scanners and shipping software.
• Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO quality environments is a plus.
