Job summary

Flex-N-Gate in Ohio seeks a Shipping Clerk to ensure accurate shipping/receiving of materials to production and customers, with emphasis on release quantities, schedules, and proper paperwork. You will coordinate with carriers, update CMS system, track shipments, and help maintain inventory accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and arrange shipment of product for external operations.
• Complete and update daily shipping schedule.
• Complete shipping logs and verify items on receiving logs.
• Arrange shipment as specified by customer or best way.
• Troubleshoot with carrier representatives and communicate issues.
• Provide shipment tracking to internal and external customers.
• Enter shipping information into company software.
• Verify incoming and outgoing shipments against bills/invoices/orders.
• Record shortages or damaged goods.
• Generate labels using company software.
• Periodically perform physical inventory of materials.

Summary

Responsible to assure shipping/receiving proper materials to/from each customer in accordance with release quantities, shipping windows and deliver proper paperwork to customer's transportation service. May be responsible to assure receipt raw material in warehouse and keeping up date inventories and invoices in CMS System; provide material on time to production area.

Job Duties

• Prepare and arrange for shipment of product for external operations
• Complete and update daily shipping schedule
• Complete shipping logs and verify items on receiving logs
• Arrange for shipment as specified by customer or “best way”
• Troubleshoot and communicate with carrier representatives with situations arise
• Provide shipment tracking to internal and external customers as needed
• Enter all necessary shipping information into company software
• Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment
• Compares information and counts, weights or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders or other records
• Record and report shortages or damaged goods
• Use computer software to generate labels
• Periodically perform physical inventory of materials

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED
• 2-3 years related experience in shipping activities in a manufacturing or similar fast-paced environment. Supervisory experience would be an asset
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
• Proficiency with database applications and administration systems, specifically Microsoft Office
• Must be a highly motivated, service and team-oriented individual with an attention to detail
• Strong analytical ability
• Problem solving skills
