Job summary

Shapes Group Ltd. Co. in Palm Bay, FL is seeking a full-time shipping clerk responsible for unpacking and routing shipments, inspecting for damages, and coordinating with buyers to rectify shortages.

You will track goods with computers, schedule carrier pickups, manage packing materials, perform ERP transactions, and participate in 6S and safety procedures. A valid driver’s license and at least one year in shipping/receiving are required.

Responsibilities

• Unpack, examine, and route incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with buyer to rectify damages and shortages. Receives and processes all defective parts returned for replacement or credit.
• Perform all computer functions necessary to track various aspects of goods.
• Responsible for planning for pick up by the carrier specified on the customer order, which is conveyed to the shipping clerk via the shipping instructions.
• Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
• Responsible for keeping an adequate supply of shipping materials on hand always.
• Make pickups and deliveries to our suppliers for parts and raw materials using a company vehicle, as required.
• Pull material per work order and complete all paperwork requirements and complete the proper transactions in the ERP system when required.
• Responsible to implement and perform material cycle counts as scheduled.
• Review and ensure accuracy of pick ticket documents and work orders.
• Contribute to continuous improvement with department objectives.
• Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
• Responsible for packing of all outgoing shipments per work instructions. Maintain area to align with 6S activities.
• Assist in Stock Room as needed.
• Other responsibilities as requested, directed, or assigned.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift, move, transport and load items across the building up to 50 pounds at times.
