Job Summary
Ensures the effective and efficient movement of outgoing orders, as well as incoming materials and supplies. Works as a team member to ship, receive, and process items used in manufacturing or assembly in a thorough, accurate, and rapid-response manner.
Principal Accountabilities
- Ensure accurate addressing and complete shipment paperwork, including shipment data, transportation method, space, and charges.
- Assemble orders and prepare goods for shipment, including building boxes and crates.
- Follow instructions, guidelines, and policies of the location to perform job functions.
- Complete shipping and receiving reports, ensuring all documentation is correct and entered into tracking systems.
- Report damages and discrepancies for accounting and record-keeping.
- Identify items with appropriate information.
- Use forklifts, pallet jacks, cranes, and other equipment to move items safely around the facility.
- Assist employees with retrieving and handling WIP, finished goods, and materials.
- Maintain supplies and equipment used daily.
- Operate saws for manufacturing.
- Transport materials, machinery, and products using vehicles such as pickup trucks or flatbeds.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of WIP, finished goods, and materials, including proper identification and protection.
- Assist in periodic inventory counts as requested.

Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 0-3 years of experience in shipping and receiving in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, cranes, and other handling equipment safely.
- Ability to operate vehicles with automatic or manual transmissions.
Other Skills and Environment
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Effective reading, writing, and speaking in English.
- Work schedule typically 40+ hours per week, including potential overtime, evenings, and weekends.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and stand for extended periods.
