General Plastics Inc. Milwaukee location seeks a reliable warehouse associate responsible for safe shipping and receiving, staging finished goods, packing slips, and proper bin locations.

You will process shipments, verify orders, and communicate labeling or packaging issues to supervision. The role requires high school level education, a valid driver's license, 1–3 years of experience, and basic computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).

Competenze

• High school diploma or GED required; valid driver's license; 1–3 years of experience; computer experience with common software tools.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, schedules, and orders; able to write reports and correspondence.
• Effectively communicate with customers, vendors, and co-workers; basic math and measurement skills.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio or similar office software.

• Maintains safe work environment and practices.
• Checks in and empties finished goods staging area, assigns bin locations, and prepares packing slips.
• Ships finished goods, reviews daily orders, ensures completeness, and verifies packaging and labeling.
• Generates paperwork (packing lists, bills of lading, certs as needed) for shipments.
• Ships via appropriate carrier or GP truck; coordinates pickups for non-GP carriers.
• If shortages occur, checks with Production Manager or Customer Service to determine if partial shipment is possible.
• Notifies Production Manager of labeling, packaging, or counting issues; supports maintenance work orders.
• Supports continuous improvement, 5S, and Lean Manufacturing (OPEX) initiatives.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Duties and Tasks:

• Ensures safe work environment and practices.
• Checks in and empties finished goods staging area by completing packing slip and giving finished goods a bin location.
• Ships finished goods as follows:
• Reviews open order report for due for that day
• Makes sure orders are complete and on the dock check if any overage can be shipped.
• Verifies product is packaged properly.
• Generates required paperwork for shipment (packing list, bill of lading, and material certs if required.)
• Ships product using proper carrier. (Common Carrier, UPS, FED EX, Expedited freight line, or GP Truck)
• If it is GP truck delivery loads truck and delivers. If it is any other carrier calls or goes online and requests pickup.
• If order is short checks with Production Manager or Customer service if the order can be shipped short or is still in process.
• Communicates any labeling, packaging, or counting issues to the Production Manager.
• Makes sure Maintenance Work Orders are completed for any repair or damage.
• Supports & drives continual improvement, 5S, and Lean Manufacturing (OPEX) initiatives implementation.
• Other tasks as assigned by management.

Education / Experience

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid Drivers License.
• 1-3 year experience.
• Computer experience (Word, Excel, Power Point & Visio).

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, production schedules, purchase orders, maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
• Ability to write reports, procedural manuals, and correspondence.
• Able to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and other employees.

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
• Able to practical problem solve and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Able to interpret a variety of specifications and information furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
